Diagnosis

This strategy made a strong profit, turning a 660% total return on 45 trades over time. The ride was fairly steady, with a Sharpe ratio of 1.40, but it did hit a rough patch with a worst drawdown of -27.33% that lasted from mid-2024 to August 2025, so that was the most painful period. The win rate is 53%, meaning more than half of trades were winners, and the average trade gained 5.46%, so the result is not driven by just a few huge wins. The entry-timing edge is solid, as real entries beat 83% of random entry runs, so the entry signal itself is doing most of the work rather than the exits. The edge also shows up consistently, being profitable in all four walk-forward test periods, so it is not a fluke from one lucky stretch.
